Felicia Barnett was born in Upstate New York and her life serves as a testament to the power of recovery from what may seem like ruins. At the age of 15, she became a teenage mother, but that did not deter her from completing high school by the age of 16. She started working in a rehabilitation facility, providing care to seniors and the elderly, at just 17 years old.
However, at 18, Felicia found herself pregnant again, and at 19, her life took a drastic turn. One night in September 1986, she was struck by a drunk driver while leaving a convenience store, resulting in major damage to the left side of her body. The accident required months of healing, rehabilitation, and restoration. Despite the challenges, with the support of her loving family, Felicia learned to walk, drive, and live again.
In 1988, Felicia faced another life-altering event when her eldest child, at the age of 5, was hit by a motorcycle. Witnessing the accident was a traumatic experience, but miraculously, her son's injuries healed in just 16 days. Today, he works as a software engineer.
In the fall of 1993, Felicia enrolled in college and earned an A.S. degree in Human Services. This achievement marked a significant milestone in her life and gave her the confidence to pursue any goal she set her mind to. She began advocating for migrant families and youth through the Newark Central School District, organizing college trips and events for the youth, training teachers for ESL classes, and developing special Girl Scout programs for migrant girls.
In 1995, Felicia felt a shift from upstate NY to Atlanta, GA. For over 20 years, she served in various capacities, eventually being ordained and licensed as an associate pastor and later as an executive pastor in 2015. Felicia continued her education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Beulah Heights University, a Master's in Divinity in 2015, and an MBA from Everest University. Throughout her years of ministry, she developed Christian education and outreach programs and delivered powerful messages to many.
Her mission and vision revolve around empowering women to overcome life adversities through advocacy, accountability, and community-based programs that build faith and purpose. She aims to see women reconciled, restored, and resilient in their journey towards fulfilling their God-given potential.
Felicia Barnett's life is a testament to resilience, determination, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. Through her experiences and her ministry, she continues to inspire and empower others to overcome their own challenges and walk boldly into their purpose.
